Instead, this time, she didn't get more violent, she retreated inwards and became always childlike, crying out she was "sorry" and begging for her mum and dad's help.Īs Rue, sobbed, Leslie eventually managed to convince her to get in the car and head for the hospital, but Rue's change of mind was all too good to be true. Not only does Rue berate her family, insulting her mother's parenting and blaming her for her drug addiction, she also told Jules she regretted ever meeting her and, with pure evil in her face, told Jules there is nothing between them and even calls her a "vampire", accusing her of "sucking the life out of everybody."Īfter trashing the family home in search of the $10,000 suitcase of drugs she agreed to sell for mysterious drug lord Laurie (Martha Kelly), Rue learned her mum and sister had flushed all of the drugs down the toilet, causing her to spiral even more. Rue is so wrapped in her addiction, she cannot see Jules's action as anything other than betrayal. In the end, it was Jules (Hunter Schafer) who had told Rue's mother about Rue's relapse after Elliot (Dominic Fike) told her the truth in Episode 4. Not only is Rue in serious self-destruct mode in Episode 5, but she also has no issues with seriously hurting the ones who love and care about her the most. For one hour, Emmy-winning actor Zendaya puts on an award-worthy performance as relapsed addict, Rue Bennett who goes to frighteningly extreme lengths to get her fix. Euphoria Season 2 has crossed the halfway line with the arrival of Episode 5 and fans finally got the Rue-centric episode we've all been waiting for.
